The big "E" word is next. Yes exercise. You must exercise regularly to ensure the body does not retain its fat stores. This MC has been around since the infancy of the Motorcycle culture. Now I have only known Queensboro MC for about 8 of those 97 years but I can tell you over 97 years this group of Bikers have made many friends in and outside of the Motorcycle world! Their annual Motorcycle Rodeo Held each year at a local Park shows not only how many friends they have made but also how 98 years can teach you how to throw a great party.Just one look at the parking lot at the Rodeo shows you the wide diversity of their Friends,With Motorcycles from Harley to Honda, Ninja to Norton and so many others in between. Chances are, you're one of these people. I applaud your notion of making a few extra dollars from selling the items that you make. However, you will need a booth, as well as the ability to attract potential buyers to it. The next few paragraphs will talk about tips I've gotten from a few "fair regulars":

Spruce up your booth: Having fabulous craftworks is only half of the deal. You won't be attracting customers if all you do is spread them on a dull table. You're selling art. Make the booth attractive enough to catch would-be buyers' eyes from a distance. Something as simple as a colorful cloth to spread out your wares on or a banner on top of your booth will be a big thing. If you're selling food and beverages, a dumpster right next to you will certainly not help any. Make sure you clean up your area, too.

*Talk, not intimidate: Basically, your crafts will not sell themselves. Make it an effort to go around your booth and talk to potential customers about your creations. Tell them why they're special, but remember to not ply them with too much information. Be casual! If you notice someone having doubts, try offering them a similar items they might be interested in.

Be prepared for ill weather: We may be the Sunshine State, but a tropical area also receives its fair share of rainfall. And if you've been in Florida long enough, you know that you will never be able to predict when it will drop. Have some thick plastic sheets ready to cover your crafts in the event of a rain, and have some heavy objects as well so they don't fly away. And do bring an umbrella for yourself as well! We don't want you sick, now.

Last, remember to not overdo it: Don't cram so much stuff on your booth that your crafts aren't noticeable. Talk, but not so much as to forget to listen to your customer. And don't bring so much anti-rain equipment , you forego bringing your own crafts.

Reading Basic Acoustic Guitar Tabs

Guitar music has its own musical notation. The standard musician's notation of staffs, notes, note values, ledger lines, key signatures and time signatures is replaced with a simpler, operational type of notation, called a tab. Even if you do not know how to read music, you can learn how to play guitar with the acoustic guitar tabs. Many stringed instruments use tabs or tablatures.

"Tabs" is short for tablature. Acoustic guitar tabs are like a little picture of your guitar strings. The first row is the top string and the sixth row is the bottom one. On each of the rows, or lines, the numbers indicate the fret youre supposed to be playing. A 0 (zero) is used to indicate an open string, while an X indicates a muffled string.

In case you don't know what a fret is, its the space between two of the metal bars on the long neck of your guitar. Most acoustic guitars have from 21 to 24 of these frets. Their dots are just there to help you in positioning your fingers.

Check out acoustic guitar tabs and you'll notice that the numbers run all in one line, indicating which fret to use on the one string your plucking. Those numbers tell you that your supposed to be playing each of them individually. If there's a number on each line and the numbers are on top of each other, then your supposed to play the notes simultaneously, strumming away on all six of your strings.

When reading acoustic guitar tabs, you may come across things like, hammer-on, pull-offs, bends and slides. A hammer-on may be represented by something such as "7h9," with the "h" being the notation for the hammer-on. A pull-off would be noted in the same way, with a "p" instead of an "h." A bend is noted by a simple "b" and a slide would be represented by a "/."

After you've gotten accustomed to the notion of reading music by string position, search online for basic acoustic guitar tabs and find a tune your really familiar with to practice on. While the approach may be new to you, youll see that you can pick up its melody quickly this way now that you can read tabs.

You'll pick up a tune much more quickly if you can also listen to it while youre trying to learn it. You get more detail and an added feel for the beat, even with a song you think you know by heart. The Annual Who Cares Committee Inc Toy Run

I'm sure most of you from Long Island NY go to the Who Cares Committee Toy Run every year and have been going for many years as it is a Long Island Biker tradition! Some of you may or may not know over a few years back Bob Whelehan (a good friend of mine) who was the President of the Committee passed away due to complications caused by his Diabetes, leaving his Wife and Kids with many bills to take care of. His Wife Liz known as Mom to many because of how giving she has always been took over as President of the Committee and running the Toy Run to make sure the Children of the St. Chris-Ottille Residential Treatment Center in Sea Cliff Still received their Presents every year.Even with her own bills piling up due to the loss of her Husbands income!!!

Well as if things where not bad enough for Liz and her Family while she was walking home from the Super Market a car ran a red light and hit Liz while she was walking across the street in the cross walk putting her out of work an into a Wheel Chair! Being the strong women she is, she has fought back and can now walk around a little with the use of a cane. Liz is living on $600 a month until she can get well enough to get back to work. She can not pay all of her rent or bills!

Now With a story like that you may believe Liz would have been looking for some one to help her out, and why not? After all she has done for the Children of people of Long Island over the years! But no that is not what she was looking for. She was looking for help Running the Toy Run for the kids of St.Chris-Ottille. The Who Cares Committee being in Disarray because of all the tragedy that had befallen it had lost its AMA Charter and needed help Getting the Toy Run Sanctioned and Insured and of course they needed some able body Bikers to help work the sign up at the Sears Parking lot in Hicksville!

Well when the bikers of Long island heard about this they came out in force to help out! Members of L.I.M.A (The Long Island Motorcycle Association)a Club of AMA Clubs got the Run Sanctioned and insured and Bikers from all walks of the Biker world came down to help out! Members of the Mortal Skulls MC who own an Entertainment Company Donated their time to D.J. the Run and announce the Raffles at the party at the VFW Hall, 320 South Broadway, Hicksville. Once again Members of L.I.M.A. helped out, This time with cooking and serving the food. As anyone who has been to this event knows the food is always incredible.

So often we here the cry as Bikers to help one of our own and we always do!!! This time the Cry was to help one of our own Continue to help others and again on a cold December day We where there!!! Information on ADHD - What I Have Learned

One can never have enough information on ADHD. What I have learned is there are several different causes, types, and treatments for ADHD. Keep in mind what you may not be aware of, may lead you to make the wrong decisions.

ADHD is a pattern of impulsiveness and inattention. It can be with or without the component of hyperactivity. It is short for Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It is most commonly found in boys than in girls. A child that has ADHD can have it well into adulthood by a 10-40 percent chance.

Treatments for ADHD would be medications and behavior therapy. If those don't work there are other treatments available such as life style changes, counseling, and/or behavior modifications. Pre-schoolers should never take medication; however talk to their doctor for other helpful ideas.

Although there haven't been any studies for taking medications for three years or more, it may not be wise to do so. They aren't sure whether it might cause long-term behavioral problems or any other sort of problems. If a person is taking medication and has for a couple years or more, they might want to talk to a doctor.

Impulsiveness is the tendency to interrupt during a conversation, be disorganized, acting before thinking of the consequences it could bring, and/or jumping from one thing to another.

Inattention is where the person has difficulty listening and paying attention, is easily distracted, and doesn't finish work.

If your child has the inability to sit still, fidgets and squirms, is restless and has restless sleep or climbs on things, he or she could have hyperactivity.

Those three things make up ADHD and knowing the difference may help determine what they might have.

Other Disorders Associated with ADHD

ADHD is found to be associated with other disorders that deal with behavior problems and inability to have control over the mind. These disorders would be; Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct order, Primary Disorder of Vigilance, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety disorders.

Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) is an ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile, and defiant behavior toward authority figures.

Conduct Disorder is behavioral problems such as physical aggression, destructiveness, truancy, lying, vandalism, stealing, and cruelty to that of humans and animals.

Primary Disorder of Vigilance is the same as ADHD but with the person appearing to be hyperactive to stay alert. Over time the symptoms become worse.

Bipolar Disorder is where the person has episodes of abnormally elevated moods. This is clinically referred to as mania, or if it is milder, then it's called hypomania.

Anxiety Disorder is a persistent or irrational fear that could be accompanied by headaches, sweating, hypertension, and/or palpitations.

Causes of ADHD

Although the specific cause for ADHD is not yet known, there are still other causes such as genetics. Genetics make up for 75 percent of the causes for ADHD. Another cause is the environment. Its pollution and toxins harm the brain.

Yet the biggest influence doctors believe to be the cause of ADHD is pregnancy. Any chemical the mother gets near during pregnancy could cause damage to the unborn baby's brain. Drinking and smoking while pregnant can cause things to go wrong in the unborns' brain that the mother could have avoided.

How Can You Tell Between Artificial Flowers And Real Ones

Have you ever walked into an office reception or dentist reception, and seen someone fingering the flowers? It is amazing how artificial flowers and artificial plants have the really alive look. The quality of artificial flowers has improved out of sight over the years, and investing in them will save you a lot of dollars, and also, if you look after them, you will be able to keep them for many years.

About 12 years ago a shop opened up in our town which only sold artificial flowers and artificial pot plants. At the time I remember thinking, thats risky, that wont last long. Well, all these years on it is still there and many businesses have come and gone since it opened. What even amazes me more is the fact that it is not a small shop, it is relatively quite large with a huge amount of stock on display.

Artificial flowers are much better quality now than they have ever been. The colours are so real, the shadings are breathtaking, and it is no wonder that they look so real. I wonder if you have ever felt you just had to touch those flowers on display, to see if they are real or not.

Rooms like a bathroom, for example, can be brightened up nicely with some artificial flowers. These rooms often have little sunlight and smallish windows.

Any room in the house that is on the darker, colder side of the house can benefit from an arrangemet of artificial flowers, or an artificial plant. Few pot plants do well in this situation, and real flowers do not last that long either.

Dont be tempted to just stick some flowers in a vase. If you get an artificial arrangement made it will last for a really long time, and if you have several of them you can swap them around to add some variety. Store them with care. Put them in plastic bags to keep the dust off, and they will last for ages.

Artificial flowers have a place in our lives in many ways which could be for home decoration, workplace decoration, and then again it may be for a special occasions like a wedding.

For weddings and other functions in cold climates artificial flowers can be used with the knowledge that they will not die before the big event.

I would suggest you do not give artificial flowers as a gift, unless specifically asked for, but they most certainly do a great job in the house. They require less attention and you are not under pressure to change them or the water every few days.

Save your money for quality paints. You might want a few extras, such as stencils for some finishes, but you may already have most or all of the equipment you need.

If you're a beginner - or to make sure you're properly prepared - this checklist will help you take stock before you embark on your faux painting project.

Preparation for Painting

What to Wear: Paint can be messy, so wear old clothes that permit stretching. Some kind of hat will keep your hair paint-free and make sure your shoes are non-slip - you don't want to fall off your ladder.

Flooring Protectors: If your room is carpeted, make sure the floors are covered well against splashes and spills. Newspaper and plastic are a less desirable option. Plastic is slippery and sheets of paper shift about and stick infuriatingly to the soles of your shoes. Fabric coverings absorb paint and though old sheets might do, your best bet is a closely woven canvas drop cloth designed for the purpose. They are reusable and well worth the investment.

Spackling Compound/ Putty / Filler: To plug holes and smooth out cracks or other imperfections, Go for a quick-drying kind. Apply with a putty or palette knife and smooth off with different grades of sandpaper.

Masking Tape: This sticky-backed paper tape will help keep paint off areas like door frames and window glass and help you achieve a neat edge. For painting clean borders and straight stripes, masking tape is a must.

Tools & Accessories

Ladder: For ceilings and walls an aluminum ladder with a shelf to put your paint pot on is recommended. If your ladder doesn't have a shelf, there is a gadget (a 'painter's assistant') that will help you attach your tin to your ladder. Beware of heavy, full tins that can pull the ladder over.

Stir Sticks: If not supplied with the paint, avoid garden sticks unless you want bits of twig and bark in your paint finish.

Bucket: Paint can be mixed in a bucket or tray, but a bucket also helps keep your painting paraphernalia organized in one place, instead of scattered over the floor.

Paints: The right type and quality of paint is fundamental to the success of your faux painting finish. This is one area where you can't afford to cut corners.

Brushes and Applicators: A good general purpose paintbrush is one with the bristles angled at 6mm (2"). Cheap brushes aren't worth the saving, since the bristles come out and ruin your handiwork. Rollers are essential for large surfaces. The texture they create will depend on the nap, so make sure you choose carefully. Rollers are often sold with a paint tray. To avoid having to scrub it out, roller linings (or 'skins') can be used and then discarded. Different techniques require different applicators. The sponges sold for washing cars are a great choice for color washing.

Miscellaneous Items

A general purpose knife and a blade will be useful for various tasks, from cutting masking tape to removing unwanted paint from windows. You may need to remove wall fittings so have a screwdriver to hand (also useful for opening paint tins).

Cleaning It Up

Rags: Have colorfast rags handy to deal with spills and for cleaning brushes. Don't splash out with special products for brush-cleaning. Dishwashing liquid will even remove paints that are part oil-based (for example, cream stencils).

You may have one or two additional requirements, such as stencils, depending on the particulars of your project, but you do not need fancy equipment to achieve your aims. Resist the gadgets and gimmicks and keep it simple.

Surprisingly, even strangers are open to talking about their tattoos. After all, they are visible, so their owners want them to be noticed, and they're impersonal enough that few people take offense to questions. And it's a great way to meet people to boot.

Once you have personal recommendations, do some web searches for each of the specific parlor names. Search for phrases like "tattoo-shop-name complaints," "tattoo-shop-name sucks," etc.

Your local independent paper is another good source of referrals. Tattoo shops very often advertise to these audiences, and if the ads are recurring, odds are very high that the shop is favored in the community.

3) Do your safety checks. Now that you have a shortlist of potential providers, take a trip to each one. At this point you are interested in safety and cleanliness.

* Are the tattoo artists wearing gloves? * Do they wash their hands between tattoos? * Is smoking prohibited in the studio? * Is the parlor licensed? * Is the parlor clean? * Do the artists pull their needles from the autoclave (sterilizing equipment) prior to each tattoo? * Are single-use supplies used during a session? For example, look for things like disposable ink cups, fresh needles, and the like? * Do the artists shave and disinfect each client? Are plastic bags present and wrapped around hand-held equipment? This helps prevent cross-contamination.

4) Find an artist. While many people don't do this for fear that they'll offend the tattoo artists, you can and should request an artist you feel most comfortable with if their style suits your tastes better. This is your tattoo, and it will be with you for a lifetime, so if one artist does better black and white work, or if one artist has a large book of designs you like, you might be more satisfied with the work that they do for you. Don't be afraid to look through the art present to see who makes a good fit for you.

When you meet the tattoo artist, they should be friendly and helpful. They get a lot of window shoppers, so don't expect them to be bubbly and excited to meet you, but they should still be accommodating. They should never try to talk you into getting larger or more intricate tattoos. Any artist who has been in business knows that the most satisfied clients are informed clients. Experienced tattoo artists will usually offer their opinions and guide the process, they should never push you.

If you feel that you are being led to a design or decision that you don't like, or if the artist is dismissive of your questions, you might need to move on. If you want your garden to have blooms of beautiful and colorful flowers, you'll need to plant them carefully. Arrange them properly, and provide adequate care. Before you plant the flowers, make sure that the soil is right for them. You should dig your beds down a foot and a half for two deep. Consider the type of soil that you naturally have in your garden, and choose a fertilizer that will help it reach the optimum balance for your plants. The fertilizer you choose should include the elements that your plants aren't getting from the soil.

When planning the location of your plants within your flower beds and border, keep in mind the color of the blooms, even if the plant is not blooming when you purchase it. Plan for contrast in the texture and color of the flowers, but make sure that the colors will also blend in an attractive manner. For example, the bright color of Zinnias can be balanced with softer colors from chrysanthemum or cosmos.
